Progreso Coffee Program

The Progreso Coffee Program’s objective is to improve the social and economic conditions of small coffee producers from cooperatives in Latin America and Africa.

This integrated 5-year program involves 12 cooperatives from 7 countries. These countries are amongst the poorest in their regions. The farmers depend on coffee as an important export product, their rural economies are benefited by the improvement of the coffee sector.

This program is executed in collaboration between The Rabobank Foundation, DOEN Foundation, PSO and Green Development Foundation.

 

Pro-cacao

The Pro-cacao program will improve the living conditions of small cacao producers. As a first step, this program will start in Peru, in the future, we have plans to include organizations from other countries and continents. This program is executed in collaboration between The Rabobank Foundation, The DOEN Foundation, PSO and Green Development Foundation.

 

Management of the Coffee Support Network

Because of the rapid growth of the Utz Kapeh certification for the mainsteam coffee industry and the need for producer support to implement the Utz Kapeh Code of Cunduct the GDF and Solidaridad (www.solidaridad.nl) developed the Coffee Support Network (CSN). CSN develops tools for producers, can provide funds to execute quick scans and can co-finance the implementation of the

Tourism Support Program (TSP)

The program aims to increase income and employment of communities involved in tourism in South Africa and Namibia. In order to increase income and employment for communities, CBT needs to be strengthened in an integral way. Therefore within the sector the following issues need to be addressed, such as Strengthening of Umbrella Organisations(Partner organizations), improving existing community based tourism enterprises and s trengthening tourism market involvement and creating linkages.
